Hafid: If I remember correctly Nabokov said that his intention was that
there should be no dot after 'northern land' in the last entry of the index
- an indication of the suicide Kinbote has been contemplatinge before in his
despair en commentary ('Dear Jesus, help me!'). I dont't remember, however,
whether he said this in an interview or whether Boyd mentions it in his
biography..PS The Library of America edition of PF, edited by Dmitri Nabokov
and Boyd, does have a dot, though.

Btw: Would Nabokov have been thrilled by the first and last syllables in the
word "IN-d-EX"?
