The photograph of a gum-logged insect won the first prize in a Spanish "Fotciencia 2010" contest, organized by the CSIC and FECYT. It was shot by Pedro Ramos.

The image reminded me of Shade's lines ("dead is the mandible, alive the song"), and I even considered adding it to the reproduction of the opalescent prison to post it with my best wishes for the New Year.
However, on second thoughts, I decided against it, since we also need strong mandibles, not only time-ebbing songs, if we want to keep on living in 2011, 2012...

Anyway, here are my best wishes to all of you!
Jansy
