EDITOR'S NOTE. My thanks to Galya Diment for calling this item to my
attention. My university library somehow missed it. It was found on a
Barnes and Noble Sale table in Seattle.
Marianne Sinclair, _Hollywood Lolitas: The Nymphet Syndrome in the
Movies_. Henry Holt: New York, 1988.
Although Alfred Appel's _Nabokov's Dark Cinema_ looks at this topic, the
Sinclair book is a far more exhaustive (and very well illustrated)
examination. The volume is by no means a scholarly study, but the author
is well aware of Nabokov's paradigmatic stature in popularly defining the
prototype. If cinematic "Dolorology" (term, coined by Zoran Kuzmanovich)
is your bag, this book is a must.
