EDITOR'S NOTE: Mac Daly's query re VN mentions in fiction is fertile
ground. A good many come to mind among which I shall mention only Roberta
Smoodin's novel _Inventing Ivanov_. I recall another in one of William F.
spy thrillers.
It might be amusing to compile a list of such references. Jeff
Edmunds' entry below is a good starting point. BTW, I seem to recall that
VN was rather condescending about Field's novel which I found amusing.

VN appears several times by name in Andrew Field's novel _Fractions_. One
might also point out that Nabokov often appears in his *own* novels as an
incidental character. King, Queen, Knave, for example.
