EDITOR's NOTE. There is obviously a whole new (to me) subfield of
Nabokoviana out there. A full set of VN book covers. The new Russian ADA,
BTW, has quite a handsome paper jacket and illustrations. Well designed by
people who care about what they are doing. As for the GLORY below,...

I have in my possession a Fawcett edition of GLORY (1971). A tall and rather
diffident-looking brown-haired man who looks in his thirties, with very
Elvisian sideburns, is being embraced by a woman in a ruffled blouse. Her
eyes are closed, her expression desperate. Her arms and hands are wrapped
around his back and neck in a way that suggests clutch rather than clinch.
Behind the woman's figure, a lighted lantern, vaguely wrought-iron, glows
atop a red-brick pillar, while a tree (resembling American elm) further
shadows the nighttime scene.

I notice also that the man's jacket looks velvety. It's brown, though, not
Emerald green.

Thanks to Galya Diment, for the info on the Glaser PNIN cover, also my
favorite. It's delightful to know VN approved.
