EDITOR'S NOTE. ALthough subscribers will doubtless have more speciifc
answers, VN's "Forewords" to the English translations of his Russian
works are the most extended self-commentaries. See also the index of Brian

I've just finished rereading VN's lectures on Joyce and found myself
wondering whether he'd ever prepared any similar material on his own
work -- not counting Speak Memory and Strong Opinions.
I find it hard to believe that he could have resisted such a playful
exercise. Do any articles exist?
