Start with D. Barton Johnson's essay on *TT* in the Garland Companion (and
as always, Boyd); as I recall, the arguments there are pretty convincing re:
the narrator's identity, but I don't think anyone argues that Hugh was
"killed." He died accidentally (and ironically), right?
