New in Zembla:
"Luzhin's Defense" by Vladislav Khodasevich. This marvelously insightful
mini-essay by a contemporary whose poetry VN esteemed highly first appeared
in _Vozrozhdenie_ in Paris on October 11, 1930.
(My thanks to Alexander Dolinin for calling the essay to my attention,
helping me track down a copy, and offering helpful comments on a draft of
the translation.)
As the fall academic semester approaches, I invite teachers of Nabokov to
make suggestions as to how Zembla might be made a more congenial research
tool for students. Please send your comments either to NABOKV-L or to me
directly at jhe@psulias.psu.edu. Thank you.
