For whatever it's worth, I've written about the
place of homosexuality in Martin's relationship with
Professor Moon (in "Podvig"/"Glory"), in an essay
entitled "The Perfect Glory of Nabokov's Exploit";
its abridged version appeared in a Russian
translation as "O kontsovke nabokovskogo 'Podviga'"
[On the Ending of Nabokov's Glory] in "Literaturnoe
obozrenie," 2 (1999): 57-62; the complete English
version will published this spring in "Russian
Studies in Literature."
