The latest issue of the on-line magazine Slate has this interesting
summation of reaction to the controversial new book DUTCH: A MEMOIR OF
RONALD REAGAN by Edmund Morris:
"A few defend Morris: His unorthodox technique captures Reagan's
contradictions and makes for 'a very strange, very interesting, very
exasperating book, full to bursting of both lies and honesty' that calls to
mind some of fiction's most masterful unreliable narrators, such as 'the
madness of Nabokov's Charles Kinbote.'" (Hendrik Hertzberg, The New
Yorker).
