1) The Dutch Nabokovian Gerard de Vries has guest-edited a very handsome
special Nabokov centenary issue of the literary quarterly _De Tweede Ronde_
(Winter 1998/990). The issue contains Dutch translations of several VN
stories, poems, essays, interviews, and reminiscences, as well as short
articles by eminent Nabokov scholars. Of particular interest is Editor de
Vries' selection of paintings and images referred to in VN's writings as
well as his survey "Nabokov in Nederland."
2) The Croatian _Knijizhevna smotra_ (Literary Review [Vol. 31, #111; #1
1999]), long edited by Irena Luksic, is devoted to major figures of 20th
century world literature. Nabokov is represented by Marina Temkina's
"Pratno zhensko tijelo: Nabokovljeva LOLITA i Ducampovo 'Uvjetno dano'"
(pp. 85-95) ("The Postwar Female Body: Nabokov's Lolita and Duchamp's
painting 'Etant donnes')
