Indeed,
I appreciate of Boyd's review. Such portions of Vera as I was able to scan
in Rizzoli and the pages posted to this server some weeks ago convey a a
feeling of well, peevishness.
Perhaps the strongest reason is that--someone please correct me if I am
wrong--Ms. Schiff was not able to conduct first-hand interviews with the
late Vera Nabokov.
