EDITOR's NOTE. Ms Pereira is NABOKV-L first and only subscriber from
Portugal where Nabokov-related library resources are very limited. Perhaps
some kindly NABOKV-L subscribers will get in touch with Ms. Pereira about
her needs.

From: Catarina Saraiva Pereira <mocitacasta@mail.telepac.pt>

On behalf of Mr.Edmunds advice I am contacting you. As part of a PHD
thesis in American Short Story, I am trying to expose myself to the
already existing body of criticism on and about VN's short piece 'signs
and symbols' amoung other varied stories by varied authors. I am
focusing on narratology in the dissertation but the criticism I am
looking for need not be limited to that. Below I have enclosed the
correspondences and the bibliography I was asking to be sent
electronically. I have not yet sent the inquery openly to Nabokok-L
members. It would be very helpful to recieve some imput into this ever
enchanting story - there is nothing in my language nor in my country in
English in the way of scholarly writing.

thanks for your time and effort,
csp
