book.
A former senior editor at Simon & Schuster, Schiff was
educated at Phillips
Academy and Williams College in
Massachusetts. ``Saint-Exupery: A Biography,''
her first effort, was a Pulitzer Prize finalist in 1995.
``Vera'' looks at the relationship and literary partnership
between Vera Nabokov and
her husband, Vladimir, the celebrated author of ``Lolita''
and ``Pale Fire.'' The book
was published last April by Random House.
Schiff, who has written for The New Yorker, The Times
Literary Supplement and
The New York Times Book Review, lives in New York City and
Canada.
