EDITOR's NOTE. Mr. Dragalescu is quite right. The cat in the picture,
"Bandit," resided at home of the Sharp family in Ithaca, and was
lavishly spoiled by the Nabokovs circa 1957. Oddly, I had in mind
another cat (and novel).
