Did no one respond to the editor's clever challenge yet? A delightful
allusion! I'm taking advantage of a quiet sunday morning to catch up
with
Zemblan news, but a quick look up the list of subject headings indicates
that this delightful question went unanswered.
I call it delightful because of the fact that I've been reading Boyd on
that novel. Only a couple days after HRH's demise, I came upon the
passage in which Boyd drew attention to the poem. Ghostly indeed! And a
bit sad. Born one generation later, the Princess might have married her
divorced Peter.
