Regarding Kiran query about Lolita in Russian without the John Ray Jr.
intro. Editors often make the assumption that JR, Jr. was real and that his
intro is not part of the novel. It has happened in VN's Russian version and
many times in other translations. It has even been published without the
intro in English (Everyman's Library, London, 1992; later corrected).
