Okay, so this isn't the most important of forum posts, but I thought I'd
mention it for anyone who tracks VN spottings.
A few nights ago, a celebrity edition of the ABC show "Who Wants to be a
Millionaire?" had a bevy of supermodels competing for the top prize. The
beautiful and (or so I thought) intelligent Frederique had racked up a tidy
pile of dough before being hit with this brain-buster: the novelist Vladimir
Nabokov's was also an expert in what field: Birds? Gems? Butterflies? (I
forget the other choice.) Frederique didn't know, so she used the phone a
friend option to call her boyfriend. He didn't know either. Wisely,
Frederique chose not to guess and walked with the money she had earned thus
far.
Quick, someone -- send this woman a copy of "Nabokov's Butterflies."
