EDITOR's CORRECTION SUPPLEMENT/CORRECTION: Brian Boyd provides some additional
information on the Russian edition of VLADIMIR NABOKOV: THE RUSSIAN YEARS- not
the American Years as I absent-mindedly wrote.
-----------------------------
It's The Russian Years, of course, not The American Years (which is
halfway down the pipeline). All Russian materials have been cited in the
originals, rather than retranslated from the English, and this includes
manuscript material unpublished outside the biography.
There is also a considerable amount of new material unavailable in the
English version, especially about Nabokov at Tenishev school, using
sources I discovered only after the collapse of Soviet information control or
brought to the surface in the wake of the publication of the biography.
Galina Lapina (wife of Alexander Dolinin) meticulously translated the
volume, with my close collaboration or interference.

I have received two jubilant announcements from Russia
reporting/celebrating the long-awited appearance of the Russian
translation of the second volume of the Boyd VN biography.
This a major event for Russian readers. My congratulations to all who
participated in this undertaking.
