Um grande almoço no restaurante Porcão Rio’s, no Aterro do Flamengo, marcou ontem o lançamento da “Coleção Biblioteca O GLOBO — Os livros mais desejados do século XX”, que vai levar às bancas 30 das maiores obras-primas da literatura mundial. Os 200 principais jornaleiros do Rio e do Grande Rio assistiram a uma apresentação do projeto feita pelo gerente de Circulação de Venda Avulsa da Infoglobo, Luiz Cerqueira.
Segundo o diretor-geral da Infoglobo, Paulo Novis, o momento de lançamento da promoção é oportuno, já que 560 mil pessoas compareceram à 11 Bienal do Livro, que terminou domingo passado com um crescimento de 40% no número de exemplares vendidos e de 71% no faturamento em relação à edição anterior. O diretor lembrou que a idéia já foi sucesso na Europa, especialmente na Itália e em Portugal, e afirmou que o projeto — em parceria com a “Folha de S.Paulo” — vem sendo elaborado há um ano.
No encerramento da apresentação, o gerente-geral de Circulação, Anthony Talbot, afirmou que é fundamental a participação de todos os jornaleiros para garantir o sucesso do projeto.
O primeiro volume da promoção, “Lolita”, do russo Vladimir Nabokov, é grátis para quem comprar o GLOBO no dia 8 de junho. A partir daí, até dezembro, os leitores do GLOBO poderão adquirir semanalmente, aos domingos, os outros clássicos, por R$ 11,90 (além do valor do jornal).
