In "V.V.Nabokov: Pro et Contra" (vol.1, 1997) there is an article concerning Kawabata and Nabokov by Nora Buhks. She finds many affinities between "Zaschita Luzhina" and "The Master of Go" and explains them, in VN's words, by a telepathic link between writers.
