EDMUSING. Literary critics have long organized their field by categories: language, time periods, genre, Romanicism/ Realism, postmodern...etc.
With all due respect to my colleagues, I propose still another source of profound insight: teeth & dentistry. The founding examplars are Nabokov and Martin Amis. I can now recommend a third --- Neal Stephenson of CRYPTONOMICON fame. See paperback pages 776-81 (the "chapter entitled "Wisdom"). And then there is Nabokov & Updike.
