Reading Lolita in Tehran in a new light

Reading Lolita in Tehran isn't about hating Iran, it's about reading a
book which you identify with. I doubt the author of this article
read beyond the first few pages because he keeps mentioning Lolita,
and there are many other books which Azar Nafisi uses to show the
American Dream, The Great Gatsby for one (I think that run-on sentence
proves I'm no literary master, so cut me some slack here). Nafisi
even mentions that Invitation to a Beheading is more akin to her
situation than Lolita.
Anyway, it's a good book, she really loves Nabokov, so it's worth
reading.
