[EDNOTE. Walter Miale's gallinaceous parody received compliments from Anthony Brown ("Superb. I've never seen Mr. Miale's post before. Hope he includes writing fiction among his accomplishments") and Anthony Stadlen ("I agree"). Here Walter provides information on his writing--as well as another VN parody!]

DOCTOR FROBENIUS
Chapter One
Dr. Frobenius, dentist and wife, general nuisance. A Finn? A Pole? Tongue, teeth, palate, and lips rearranging themselves to hiss, at six, in a lame smile. Doctor. Fro. Be. Knee. Us?
She's Hilda, plain Hilda, in the morning, standing five feet two in one sock, with morning breath. She's Hilda again in slacks. She's Hilda to her friends. On the dotted line-Hilda Frobenius, DDS. But to her patients she's always Dr. Frobenius.
Did she have a precursor? Oh, not really. In college I dated a Maude Sweeney. That was at Rutgers. When? Oh 1979.
You can always count on an allergist to appreciate the canapés. (hic)
Dentists and dental assistants, exhibit number one is not very important. You can ignore it. My family problems are my own affair. May I be excused now?
