As an answer to 3. The fictitious philosopher Delalande appears in
The Gift and in the preface to Invitation to a Beheading. Podtyagin
is a character in Mary and is mentioned in The Gift. Vivian Darkbloom
appears in Lolita and is the author of the "Notes to Ada". In Ada,
Ada translates the works of John Shade into French and Russian.
