This is the first I hear of this discovery and it's wonderful! Szeftel, as
you may know, has been identified as the model for Professor Pnin (Galya
Diment, Pniniad, Nabokov and Marc Szeftel).

Nabokov was going to translate The Song of Igor's Campaign (in which Vseslav
as werewolf is described) with Jakobson and Szeftel, but asked to be
released to do his own autonomous translation, published 1960.
