If, before proposing ingenious solutions, Mac Slocum et al noticed that, in the myriad interviews to which I have been subjected, I have repeatedly replied that the manuscript of Laura consists of 138 cards and not 50, it could be said that they were playing with a full deck. And a further thought: why should I be interested in using The Original of Laura as a guinea pig for digital publishing experiments (I could give you my father's probable response)?
