EDITORIAL: Seasonal Switch and NABOKV-L Policies

Hello everyone,
Now, as April returns with its sweet showers (still rather piercing here in the Northeast U.S.), I too have returned to give my valiant co-editor, Stephen Blackwell, a well-deserved rest.
I'd like to take this occasion to remind everyone of our NABOKV-L editorial policy, accessible through the link on every posting. We welcome messages that are:
- Clearly related to the study of Vladimir Nabokov;
- Free of comments which might be construed as a personal attack on someone else;
- Substantive, not merely brief rhetorical flourishes or bon mots
I also want to make another request, one which has not yet crystallized into a additional facet of our official editorial policy.
We encourage subscribers to:
- Resist the urge to reply to every NABOKOV-L post, one after another, as soon as each is received (if possible, please read through the batch of recent postings and then respond)
- Refrain from posting more than once or twice a day (so that conversation among hundreds of subscribers won't be dominated by only a few voices, and so that the volume of posts won't become more than your editors-with-demanding-day jobs can handle)
Thanks for your wonderful patience, generosity, and thoughtfulness as you help keep our conversation going!
Susan Elizabeth Sweeney (henceforth, again, SES)
Co-Editor, Vladimir Nabokov Electronic Forum
