In the Introduction to a translation of Alexandr Pushkin's "Eugene Oneguin," from the Russian 1837 original, Dario Moreira de Castro Alves makes a short reference to Vladimir Nabokov's "definitive" translation of Pushkin's masterwork and to his 800-page annotations.
This first translation of Pushkin's novel in Portuguese was finished in 2006, published in a bilingual edition (Russian-Portuguese) in Moscow(2008), and in Brazil ,by the "Editora Record" (2010)*.
As Dario C.Alves foreword informs, Pushkin translated a sonnet by the Brazilian revolutionary Tomás Antônio Gonzaga which he read in a French newspaper in 1826/27. It belongs to T.A.Gonzaga's "Marília de Direceu."
Thanks to Sklyarenko, I learned that Pushkin also mentioned the Portuguese Luís de Camões:
Surovyi Dant ne preziral soneta,
V nyom zhar liubvi Petrarka izlival,
Igru ego liubil tvorets Makbeta,
Im skorbnu mysl' Kamoens oblekal.

A sample from Chapter One, (Dario C.Alves)
Apressate-te a viver e apressa-te a sentir. Príncipe Vyasemski.
I-
"Meu tio, honesto e mui honrado,
Já quando a sério adoeceu,
Soube exigir ser respeitado,
De melhor nada concebeu.
Para os demais é uma lição;
Porém, meu Deus, quanta aflição
Do dia à noite alguém tratá-lo,
Sem espairecer e sem largá-lo!
Já vede, pois, perfidamente -
Um meio-vivo a distrair,
Pôr-lhe almofadas e sorrir,
Dar-lhe remédios, tristemente,
Mas lá por dentro a imaginar,
Quando Satã te vai levar?"
