Naobkov on Anna Karenina

Dear list,
Does anyone can suggest me a good article concerning Nabokovs comments on Anna Karenina? Notably the statements that one has to know the fysics of a 19th century russian train to understand the book.... He maybe gave the beginning of an answer in his lectures on russian literature, explaining the position of the corridors, seats and windows, but leaves the conclusion up to his readers/students. Same question for the relevancy of the red purse, he attracts our attention to. And there are a lot of others... why did he ask his students about the wallpaper in Anna's house (which is colored with violets, the flowers she wore on the fateful ball in Moscow at the start of the novel).
Thanks in advance for your help !
