"Fondness"
"Fondness"

This is a rich enjoyable post, Jansy.
I don't know where this fits in, but I find that sometimes people sign
letters
"fondly" when they want to create distance, or protest too much against
signing
"love," or really aren't fond of one at all and "fond" is a dart, or at
least
dismissive and unserious. And in other circumstances, "fondly" comes across
as sincere and as an approach to or aspiration for or signal of greater
intimacy and affection.
