JM: Great assembly of links, Alexey. The most surprising for me were Van's nurse Tatiana (she spurns him and later writes him a love letter as it happens in EO)...
In EO it happens the other way round: Tatiana writes Onegin a love letter and later turns him down (in fact, it is Onegin who spurns Tatiana and later writes her a love letter).
Russian critics early recognized Sirin's knack of turning the theme inside out, as if it were a glove.
