Abstract
The source of lepidopterists Dr Krolik's name in Ada in the famous Russian lepidopterist Leon Krulikovksy, and the hare-rabbit pattern in doctor's names in Ada in the name of the author of Die Gross-Schmetterlinge der Erde, favorite reading for Nabokov as a child, Adalbert Seitz, whose surname is a homophone of Russian zayats, "hare," as the first two syllables of Krulikovsky almost spell kroilk, Russian for "rabbit."
