Fiction and Theory of Mind
Abstract
A review-article on Lisa Zunshine's Why We Read Fiction: Theory of Mind and the Novel (Columbus: Ohio State University Press, 2006), with several pages (595-97) challenging her reading of "Humbert’s attributing to others perceptions of Lolita and himself that he quietly incorporates into his own case for his defense": a phenomenon she does well to identify, but muddles when she analyzes a specific case.
