I am certainly no literary scholar, but every time I
see something that has a hidden meaning or a puzzle within a
puzzle, I use that phrase! It is so apt, in that it rolls off the
tongue and provides a way to succinctly say how many things are
connected and have many layers of meaning.
Being the tattoo lover that I am, I was considering that phrase as
my next one. I have always wanted to devote a tattoo to my
favorite author with an image, but all I can think of is a
butterfly. Butterflies are pretty cliche and boring, though. One
of his drawings might work, but I'd rather have something unique.
I already have one devoted to my favorite book, Story of the Stone
(aka Dream of Red Mansions/Dream of the Red Chamber), but that is
expressed with Chinese characters (and doubled checked with three
different Chinese speakers, mind you).
Literary tattoos are pretty interesting! Anybody else have one?
