BB: Alexey, where did you think you came across my identifying Dr
Zhivago as
by Leonid Pasternak?
In your "Annotations" in The Nabokovian #31 (fall 1993), p. 28. You
changed
"Leonid" to correct "Boris" in the online version after I had pointed
out
your mistake (not that you couldn't notice it yourself) for you (in my
email
to you of years ago).
Your expanded note looks very impressive. When I wrote about Tatiana's
letter to Onegin, I forgot about Tatiana's love letter to Van in ADA. I
notice that "in red ink on pink paper" seems to correspond to the
rose-red
banknote that Demon received from Prince N. as the wager money.
"after spurning his course advances"
Shouldn't it be "coarse" advances?
best,
Alexey
