I am afraid we are veering off-topic but a very original fictional poet
(who is not even human) is Edward Bear, a.k.a. Winnie-the-Pooh
"How sweet to be a cloud
Floating in the blue!
Every little cloud
Always sings aloud."
His songs were skillfully translated/transposed to Russian, with much
improvement, by the great poet Boris Zakhoder (1960), and were among
the first "English" poetry items of my generation's early childhood.
Zakhoder shares with VN an honour to be one of "Alice in Wonderland"
Russian translators (retellers) (1969).
