but then Shade should give it all the meaning Russians and Russian emigres
(as Nabokov, or maybe Botkin) may attribute to it - hardly imaginable again
for anybody who knows academic life ( I do) concerning a reprint given
by a colleague concerning an epos of a barbaric people (as Russia looks
to most of you the Americans). Even if Shade had some Russian
ancestors. Would I go crazy after reading an
acadmic paper about Beowulf?
