that the "partisans" of the multiple personality theory tend
to overlook the whole stratas of meaning related to emigration
and exile that were surely important to VN himself, are
important to all readers of PF who have this experience,
and become meaningless in case if all this is interpreted as delusions
of a split personality. Once I have seen a book on the
history of chemistry. I've been impressed by the remark
that one of the problems with early alchemy was that the
alchemists didn't understand clearly what the true gold is.
It seems to me that multiple personality theory has this
weakness - you just don't see what pieces of true gold
you throw away because you underestimate their meaning.
Is it because you don't have this emigrant experience yourselves?
