I've received a number of postings responding to Schneider's "review" of
Lolita. I am not going to forward them, because it seems to me that the best place for such responses is on the blog site itself, if it accepts comments; I do not believe that Ms. Schneider is a NAB-L subscriber. I think most readers here will agree that the review does not reflect a very careful or deep reading of
Lolita, and its superficiality doesn't really earn it any attention on the list--unless we want to analyze it as a pop-culture reflection of Nabokov's art. Remember, please, that many of these "submissions" are merely found things, out in the world--not statements made directly to this readership. Our general policy is not to post expressions of disgust with or objection to the content of such found items.
