Mary caught this. She is indeed the author. When I first saw it, I wondered
about it since I didn't recall writing it but then I don't remember a lot of
what I have written. By its elegance I should have recognized it as "not
mine." Mary B. is the long time associate editor of NABOKOV
STUDIES.
As a general word of warning---in the
ten years I edited N/L the names of contributors sometimes got deleted and since
my name was on everything I am sometimes credited for the contributions of
others.
