Hello everybody:
In my last posting I mentioned the German sequel
volume to 'Strong Opinions' published by Rowohlt in 2004 as vol. 21 of their
Complete Works edition, 'Eigensinnige Ansichten', saying it contains a
transcript of Bernard Pivot's tv interview. I should have added that it contains
much more, 650 pages of material hard to come by and some of it never published
before, and that I have put the toc (in English) and the index (in German) on my
homepage (www.dezimmer.net/Root/edit.htm -
just go to this URL and then click on 'Eigensinnige Ansichten'), 10 .pdf pages.
So if anybody wants to know whether Nabokov hasn't ever said or written
something about So-and-so, he hasn't only 'Strong Opinions', the
letters and the lectures to consult but may try this volume, too. The index
consists mostly of proper names and adds the page numbers of the Rowohlt
book by means of which the source can be located in the toc. I
know it's an involute procedure, but somebody who wants some specific
information VERY MUCH may even take the trouble.
