EDNOTE. Some time ago I ran across a reference to a special issue of the Iranian journal _Samarkand: Quarterly Journal Culture and Art_. The editor,Tooba Satei, kindly sent me two ssues: one devoted to Nabokov;  the other to Beckett. The contents, apart from a supplementary table of contents, is in Iranian. The handsome, well-illustrated journal appears to be largely translations of  excerpts from VN's work plus articles by Iranian and foreign authors. Iner alia. there is an interview with Azar Nafisi.
