Hello,
A prestigious Brazilian newspaper, Folha de
S.Paulo, is announcing a new collection of books that can be bought every
week after the reader acquires their Sunday issue and pays an
additional R$11.50 ( it is less than five dollars ).
The first item of this collection is going to be
Nabokovīs Lolita and this item shall be distributed free on June 8 to whoever
buys the newspaper.
I donīt know if this is going to interest you, but
after Nabokov one finds Umberto Ecoīs the Name of the Rose; Marguerite Duras, "
LīAmant"; José Saramago " The Story of the Siege of Lisbon", E.Scott
Fitzgeraldīs The Great Gatsby, Joseph Conradīs "Line of Shadow" ( Iīm
translating the titles freely and I donīt know how some of them are in the
original...) R. Fonseca The Morel Case, Henry Miller: Tropic of Cancer, V.Woolf,
Gabriel G. Marquez,Hemmingway, Italo Svevo, Graciliano Ramos, George Orwell,
M;Vargas Llosa, Herman Hesse, Franz Kafka, etc. ( perhaps you may be able to
read the names in the advertisement that I shall be including after having
it scanned. Iīll email it presently )
Best wishes, Jansy
