EDNOTE. In reply--my thanks to Carolyn Kunin but
NABOKV-L missed neither of the items below. NABOKV-l does indeed miss VN
bibliography now and then since we depend upon the contributions of people like
Carolyn. Indeed, it is far better to have repetition of items and miss them
altogether. If you want to find out if an item has been covered already, it is
possible to search the list archive at http://listserv.ucsb.edu/lsv-cgi-bin/wa?S1=nabokv-l.
How did this escape the list? Efim Kurganov's article on "Lolita
kak Lilit" (see below) has been published as the first chapter of a book
published in 2001, Lolita i Ada (St Petersburg 2001; isbn
5-94214-008-1)..
Oglavlenie:
Predislovia Lolita kak Lilit Zagadka Ardisa O Lolite
i Ade; Popytka podvedenia itogov
"Kniga izvestnogo
russkogo filologa, zhivyshchego i rabotayushchego v Xel'sinki, posvyashchena
issledovaniiu vetxozavetnyx podtekstov nabokovskix romanov."
The latest issue
of _Slavic Almanach: The South African Year Book for Slavic, Central and East
European Studies_, Volume 6 / Number 9 (2000) carries two articles on
Nabokov, the first in English and the second
in Russian:
1. Gavriel Shapiro, "Vladimir
Nabokov and 'The World of Art,'" pp. 35-52. 2.
Efim Kurganov, "Lolita kak Lilit" ["Lolita as Lilith"],
pp.53-83.
