Introducing the Rock Hall of Fame's newest members
The Police %%bodybegin%%Members: Sting (vocals, bass), Andy Summers (guitar), Stewart Copeland (drums). Formed: 1977. Disbanded: 1986. Hometown: London. Claim to fame: Working references to Vladimir Nabokov and Jungian psychology into Top 10 singles is no mean feat. But this Anglo-American trio pulled it off, to the tune of "Don't Stand So Close to Me" and "King of Pain." The Police dabbled in reggae and raised the pop-rock bar with a string of catchy, sophisticated hits, starting with "Roxanne" and peaking with "Every Breath You Take." Recommended listening: "Outlandos d'Amour" (Interscope), "Synchronicity" (Interscope) and "Every Breath You Take: The Classics" (Interscope). . . . .
