What a surprise to find in my mail box today 'Sonya v Tsarstve Diva' a facsimile of the first Russian translation of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. I received it as a member of the Lewis Carroll Society of North America, who published it this year.

I know this is only tangentially related to Nabokov, but if anyone is interested in further information, you are welcome to email me directly.

Carolyn

p.s. Just to tantalize a bit, these are some of the names that appear in the introduction: K. A. Timirjaze, famous Russian scientist; Pushkin; Zhukovsky; Simon Karlinsky and Nabokov, of course.
