TOoL: Foetally folded
From
Date
Body
[EDNOTE. In addition to the following note from Jansy Mello, Phillip
Iannarelli wrote in response to Fran Assa: "I did too!" -- SES.]

Fran Assa: I kind of liked "foetally folded" for the pair of slippers...

JM: I doubt there'll be many more "firm form" "raving reviews" or happy
images to pick. Poor Philidor Sauvage became a simple sadist ( "writes
only sad distichs.")
I've been trying to play Dr.Wild's expunging experiments on psoriatic
pages to recover VN's golden verbal intimations, with no success*.

btw: TOoL's translation into Portuguese is abdominable, but many
controvertible versions are not the translator's fault ( such as a
"manuscript in longhand" as a redundant "manuscrito escrito a mão";
although myself, I'd have preferred "manuscrito em letra cursiva")

..................................................................................

* From VN Short-stories, this "sadist" can be found in "A Busy Man".
Here is another item, from "Vasiliy Shishkov" (addressing Gospodin
Nabokov): "... in a purely physiological way—if I may put it like
that—you possess some secret of writing, the secret of certain basic
colors, something exceptionally rare and important, which, alas, you
apply to little purpose, within the narrow limits of your general
abilities—driving about, so to speak, all over the place in a powerful
racing car for which you have absolutely no use, but which keeps you
thinking where could one thunder off next..."
